If I weren't here and I weren't me, my husband would probably be someone else's husband and my dog would be in another home. My parents would have lost a baby and tried again. Someone else would have my job.
I wouldn't be missed because no one would know me. I would just be replaced in all things.
sure i agree, it's a recognized theory called ';the butterfly effect';. Named for a short story by Robert A. Heinlein, where a group of people went back in time on a hunting expedition, to kill dinosaurs as they sunk into tar pits. when they returned from the past, they discovered someone in their party had stepped on a butterfly, and the whole world had changed.
However, here is something else to think on... what if the world was better the other way? is change a bad thing? or do we fear it because we cannot control all the permutations?
I do agree and that is a very deep theme to a story. If I wasn't me, my Bf4EaE would be Bf4EaEs with someone else (already hard to imagine, i don't want it to happen), my little sis would have a lot more good stuff, considering she would be the only child, and the world wouldn't have a new aspiring actress! =)

Once you clear your mind and take a look at it without any bias, it all makes perfect sense.
I've often wondered what life would be like were I given the choice to alter my actions. I'm glad I'm where I am now, even if it's the s*its at times. For whatever reason I think it would be worse for others were I not who I am now.
