Creationism is based on vast, pseudo-scientific nonsense. Is creationism based on the false assumption that life is too complex not to have a creator?
In a nutshell yes. It's really a bunch of Bible-literalists trying to discredit science via propaganda because they think it threatens their religion.
Yes.
Well that an the false assumption that any of this was created at all.
on the contrary, i think science creates complexes to belittle faith.
It's not a ';false assumption'; unless you have some special ';inside knowledge'; that most of the people in the world don't have - it's a logical assertion.
Yes
It is based on the willingness of most people to accept a simple answer that does not give them headaches the way thinking does.
Creationism is based on faith, whereas evolution is based on speculation.
creationism exists only in the gaps of knowledge we have now.
What theists dont understand is that just because we dont know what caused the big bang, it does not mean that God had to.
There could be an infinite number of answers to that question, just because we can not explain something, does not make ';The God delusion'; more valid
i have a really hard time buying the line about how wondrous and complex we are when we've already cracked the human genome.
Life is too complex to not have had a creator, and it is not a false assumption.
I think that's more intelligent design, which is even more of a joke in trying to hang out with sciences. It's trying to validate itself by subtly opposing (or attempting to ';go beyond';) the simplistic views of creationism by acknowledging complexity. Unfortunately, it takes that understanding in completely the wrong direction by going with the idea things are ';too complex for scientific explanation,'; which makes no sense considering science is so very complex!
Wrong lunch-table, ID.
It is based on Facts.
