who's got the real influence: you or me?True or false: others are more responsible for the occurrence and timing of great events in my life than i am?
Uh, the influence I have on YOUR life is negligible, if that.
Lots of things have influence over the ';great events'; of a person's life.
One's parents, one's self, the society one lives in, people close (for instance, a ';great event'; would be marriage; that depends on you and the person you marry), one's government, accident, natural disasters.
This is by no means a complete list.
BTW, it's not always obvious what the ';great events'; are at the time.
You're in college, say, and you decide to take this rather than that class.
It may turn out to have been the single most important thing you ever did, that puts you on a path you hadn't before planned on taking. Ends up determining your career.
It might have been a stray remark by a family member or fellow student that led you to that seemingly trivial choice.
Or suppose someone you don't know has too many drinks, and puts you in a wheel chair.
A lot of things can effect one's life.True or false: others are more responsible for the occurrence and timing of great events in my life than i am?
False. When I was well, I worked very hard to accomplish my goals. Yes I had my family behind me and a few people who believed in me, but I am the one who did the work and made things happen. I also give God thanks for working in my life and helping me to have the faith to do the things I've done.
True. Its you, but you don't have to, becasue there will be others to do it for you.
True and false. Timing and luck play a large role.
However, you can decide to make changes in your life and make your life happier. You are just responsible for yourself and not for the great events that occur in the world.
It can be both .
I consider that , as for an example , choose the person you love , marry this person , have children , create your family can and MUST be considered as a great event of your life.Event and timing which you have the choice and responsibility.
I also think that others can have a considerable influence on your life , as for example , the political problems that some countries are experiencing , which can force/oblige you( for security reasons) to leave/depart the country you love , where you and your ancestors were born , country that your ancestors and you have participated in it's development.
Occurrence and timing are not your choice.
No you influence the choices you make in your life although sometime sh(t happens, you just go with the flow.
Luck is only being prepared to exercise the opportunity when it comes your way.
its all about you!!!!!
It depends on who YOU are! You can make it true ( give away your choices to others) or you can make it false (be the CEO of your own life).
To answer your question without the religious undertone, True.
People don't have as much control of their life as they believe, you're put under pressure by law created by others, you probably work for someone else, when you were younger, your parents controlled your life.
You're a product of your environment.
If you are an adult then false, kind of. If you combined all the other factors in the world outside of yourself then they may have a larger impact than your actions in determining your path in life. (for example, your parents and place of birth and other people who you interact with)
However, you are by far, the single most important person in determining your path in life. Beyond this, your interests and goals will be a much greater influence than your abilities in determining your path.
You have the greatest influence in your Life. But you have to consciously and deliberately do it. Otherwise you just live on automatic and accept others influences.
What you make happen is one thing what you Let happen, is another grass hopper.
i neither want to be influential nor be
influenced.
and so i stay in the middle and observe
both sides and from there make my own
decission as to what's right from me.
as for taking resposibility for one's self,
that's perhaps why were in the mess were in today, because ironically the people who are down and out are exactly the people who at one time may have also use that phrase, so all i can say is wait till it happen's to you . . . and yeh i know every bodies been there and done that
well if that's true then you just prove my point by saying that cause as well off as one thinks they are there's always some one even better off point being while your screaming about the unfortunate from your lazy boy recliner, some one richer and more better off, is looking at you as though you were the boyle on the but of society, and would probably do you in before a homeless person since you present more of a chalenge so do get to cavilere cause to the super rich and super powerful, well put this way, the next dumpster at the local 7/11 could have your name on it . . .
take responsibility for your own life and deal with whatever comes your way...nobodys responsible for your life, but you
False, you move your feet, you speak what you think, you control your actions, great events are only subjective or comparative to what you believe to be '; Great Events';
Others may intrigue or inspire/ motivate , but You are ultimately responsible for the occurence and timing.
Free will is yours.
God allows us freewill... He doesn't make us do anything nor do people.
Everything in your life is a direct result of your actions, thoughts or situations.
You have freewill to change things in your life if you choose to. No one can make you do anything, not even satan.
';Great events'; makes this a little more difficult to answer. (%26amp; are they ';positive'; or ';negative,'; subjectively.) For example, Katrina could be a great event (negative) over which you had no control. But in general, YOU have the responsibilty. Your choices, your moral compass, your decisions. You can ';allow'; others the responsibility, but bottom line, it's yours.
False. They enable you to in ways but only you can complete the puzzle.
