Question 1:
Now lets pretend that the world discovers that all religions are completely made up.
How do you think life would change?
Question 2:
Lets pretend the world finds out the exact way earth and people started. How do you think life would change? How would life change if we discoverd all religions where false and discoverd how life was started?
Religion or not, there is wisdom in what is taught from all religions. The smart people, whom had religious beliefs, would carry on treating others with a moral standard of equality for all. Those that blindly follow religion without asking questions will continue to believe it, and belittle others for even questioning anything out of the bible because they don't take science for what it is. And those that were without religion, would carry on the way they were behaving prior to this knowledge with, for the most part, respect of others and high moral standard. Religion or science... whatever your path is proves there are benefits to behaving in an upholding manner.
Religions TELL us to be faithful, and monogamous to our significant other. Science PROVES that when you sleep around, you are putting yourself and others at risk of STDs... which on the lighter side of things, cause great discomfort and on the heavy side, lead to an early death.
Religions TELL us not to over indulge in things. Science PROVES that over indulging in anything is not healthy.
Peoples focus would shift from living a life to please a superior being, to looking out for the common good of humankind as a whole.
I would be concerned that SOME people may think of this new information as a ticket to misbehave, but I can hope that people would be wise enough to see the folly of acting independently. Working as a community benefits everyone.
Looking at a society of pirates, even they work as a group. If one is not fulfilling the duties that they agreed to when they joined, the rest of the pirates will view that person as a free rider. This can be resolved one of two ways, (in theory).
1 - Everyone becomes a free rider, which will ultimately corrode the whole pirate system to nothing. %26lt;-- Not going to happen seeing as how they still exist to this day.
2 - They resolve the issue of the person not pulling they're weight, and things carry on.
Pirates still have rules, limits and regulations. If they didn't, none of them would be safe from each other, and that would be counter-intuitive. Although they are not a friendly batch that you would want to come across on the high seas, they still have some compassion. The Jolly Roger, (the black flag with the skull and cross bones), is a warning to all ships that the people on board are ruthless, and will kill if resisted. This is a way to signal other ships that if they want to, they can peacefully surrender or they can take their chances in a fight.
Society has a way of organizing, even in utter chaos. I don't think it could get to this point, but I am still one to hope it doesn't get to such a point like pirates.
CyberNaraHow would life change if we discoverd all religions where false and discoverd how life was started?
1. Discovery that all religions were false will not change life in any way.
2. Discovery that all religious teachings are false is not possible as it is based on cosmic laws. If that laws goes wrong the cosmos will not exist and then still it would not make any difference because if cosmos do not exist, we also do not exist.
3. What world finds out as exact way earth and people started will be the false finding. As all human findings based on matter and physics has hitherto changed and is changing every day with new knowledge and inventions. Scientific pursuits are just an attempt to differentiate the knowledge into minutest and micro particles, the more micro you go more and more universe will be found in the atoms and molecules. with best wishes for the temporal scientific mind.
You haven't really described a hypothetical situation here. The world's religions are in fact completely made up. We can trace back our history, and that of the earth, and the facts of evolution contradict the fictive tales of religious texts concerning creation etc. But people continue to believe in their stories because it makes them feel better. They fear science because as scientific knowledge grows, religious assumptions are proven false and religious explanations for phenomena are no longer necessary. But your implication that somehow life would change in the face of this realization is a little naive. For the believer, evidence and truth mean nothing. Because the believer has ';faith';. And you can't argue with that. Especially when they have people like Ray Comfort, conservative pundits, and even members of congress, who reinforce them by joining with them to ignore facts and champion their blind faith.
Q1: It probably wouldn't change that much because a lot of people already don't believe. The sad truth is those who find out that they are killing people for a nonexistent religion would find some other reason to kill people. However, it would increase depression in a lot of people because they will lose hope.
Q2: It wouldn't. The fact is we know exactly HOW the earth and people got started. Religion has nothing to do with the question of how things happen, that's science. Religion answers the questions of WHY things are or happen.
Q1
I think life would get worse. People would lose hope. Morality would go out the window. Society would reduce to animalistic chaos inevitably.
Q2:
It wouldnt. Nobody really cares. Anti-religious bigots care because it disproves religion, the religious care because it proves religion. If not for the bigotries and the piss poor biased sciences and rhetoric to serve that sole agenda, no one would care.
====
How would life change if we discover that God does exist after all?
(funny how that wasnt even a possibility for you, huh? [ notice the down thumbs I get for pointing it out... thats right people, go on believing that youre not anti-theistic bigots... stay deluded and arrogant and stupid ] )
Q1
Religious claims in their entirety can not be completely falsified do to the nature of the inquiries they attempt to resolve.
Q2
Within reason we already know how the earth was formed, and how life on it came to exist and evolve.
Essentially things would be much as they are now.
I think it would stay about the same. For my part, I wouldn't believe a word of it. Just like I
don't buy into the lie that man and dinosaurs didn't live on Earth at the same time. Two are
described in detail in the book of Job 20;15 and a second one in Job 41;1.They are described
in detail in a history book. Too much of science lacks credibility. I hope you will check this out.
My best to you.
All religions are false, they are man made. This has been a known fact since the beginning of mankind and life has not changed because of it. Life happened so very far/long ago that no one will ever know this. So I won't spend any more time even thinking about it.
Actually, Mr. No-Name, I was already going to give you a thumbs down by the time I finished reading your first sentence. Morality isn't dependent on religion; maybe if you weren't so blinded by dogma you'd be able to see all the perfectly moral atheists and agnostics around you.
1. Why would it change? I'd just laugh at all those people that believe in religion.
2. Life for people wouldn't change so much if we knew how we really started, we'd just have a lot of answeres to most peoples questions.
1 Life wouldn't change.. people would simply reject your ';discovery'; and keep on living as they had (in general)
2 Same answer.
Science can not prove or disprove that which is not science.
It wouldn't change at all, the religious would simply ignore the facts they way they always have.
They already teach us how the world was made and us Christians don't believe in evolution now. Why would we believe in any other ideas that make no sense?
i don't think much would change, knowledge of the past is only useful in context of the future
everyone would do whatever the fu c k they want id smoke weed all day smoke crack have sex rob kill wait i already smoke weed but id have more sex than usual and smoke crack and kill more
